Goanimate.com - Fun animation

So I've been playing around with a FREE new tool. I just heard about it last week. Its called Goanimate.

I have always been a fan of avatars and cartoonlike tools like Xtranormal.com and Voki.com and this one is a lot of fun too!

Instead of asking students to put together a powerpoint slideshow of a cultural event, why not ask them to create their own cartoon character as they reinact scenes from the event! They will love this tool and they will be able to make the characters just how they like and re-live the event or present whichever concept you want them to learn. Think of the time they will spend thinking how they will show the clothing, the background, the accents, and words, all focused on the topics that they study (Food, clothing, weather, school, life, and everything else. ;-) Pretty cool!

List of World Language Resources!

I just returned from the Virtual School Symposium in Austin, Texas! What an amazing conference this year!
I wanted to post this document in case anyone was unable to attend the conference or wanted this electronically. This is a handout on Resources, Tools, and Software for Developing and Teaching Foreign Language Courses Online from the breakout session on Monday morning!

Next week I will begin adding new resources that help engage students as they learn a language (online of course). ;-)

Welcome!

Sometimes the hardest part about using online resources and tools is actually finding them and knowing how to use them to integrate them into your online class.

This blog is to share different tools, software, and resources that are available to help ENABLE, ENGAGE, and ENGAGE foreign language students.

Please share your thoughts and comments!

Let the fun begin!
